AIGLE and Setchu come from different places, but they meet on the same idea, clothing that&rsquo;s made to last, to move, and to exist alongside nature. AIGLE by Setchu, set to launch in September 2026, feels like a natural pairing. At the center is craft, AIGLE&rsquo;s long-standing technical expertise and Setchu&rsquo;s more architectural way of thinking about clothes.
Drawing from fishing gear and technical outerwear, Satoshi Kuwata strips things back to the essentials and rebuilds them into something more refined. The result sits somewhere in between, precise but fluid, functional without feeling purely utilitarian.
The A-line pleats, a signature of Setchu, shape the silhouettes with structure, while a subtle double stripe runs through the collection. Even the logo is reworked with an origami detail, small but meaningful, tying back to Kuwata&rsquo;s focus on form, gesture, and restraint.
Here, nature is part of the conversation. Kuwata, who is also an avid fisherman, approaches the collaboration as something lived, not just designed. AIGLE CEO Val&eacute;rie Dassier sees it as a way to rethink how clothing can balance style and function without compromising either.
For AIGLE, known for its rubber boots made in France and technical heritage, the collaboration pushes things forward. For Setchu, winner of the 2023 LVMH Prize, it&rsquo;s another step in a new kind of modern dressing. The first images arrive in a few months.
