The New YorkLondon, Milan and Paris fashion weeks revealed countless makeup and hair looks with a considerable focus on facial, body and hair highlighters. This may seem unusual at first glance, since what was presented there were trends for Fall/Winter. But the best thing about major fashion events is this: breaking patterns and inspiring through the unusual. So is highlighter okay during the colder periods of the year? Of course!

Cosmetics with a glossy finish (which is that wet effect) were present on the temples, lips, high points of the face, polished hair and the body.

Bottega Veneta, David Koma, Gucci, Poster Girl and Dolce & Gabbana all opted for highlighting their makeup and body. Arms, neck, legs and shoulders were given more contour with this wet effect. Hair with lots of gel, pomade and other glossy finishers was presented on the runways of Giorgio Armani, Prada and Jil Sander, just to name a few.

In the Corner

The highlighter in the inner corner of the eyes has also become quite popular. This trend is already quite popular outside of the runways, too. The trick opens up the eyes and gives a fresher vibe to the makeup. And this vibrant highlighter doesn't only come in gold, pearl and silver, but also in colors like violet, green and blue.
