Benedict Cumberbatch and Letitia Wright lead the latest chapter of Prada Re-Nylon, alongside a series of films spotlighting the brand&rsquo;s SEA BEYOND initiative.

Prada&rsquo;s Re-Nylon project has always been about more than just material innovation, and this latest chapter makes that even clearer. This time, the focus shifts to the ocean, not as a backdrop, but as something with presence.
Benedict Cumberbatch and Letitia Wright lead the campaign, but they don&rsquo;t feel like traditional campaign faces. They&rsquo;re positioned almost in conversation with the sea. Across the images, the ocean comes through as something active, something that reflects what we put into it.

That idea carries into two documentary films made with National Geographic CreativeWorks. Shot across O&lsquo;ahu, the Izu Peninsula, and Kamakura, they follow the work behind SEA BEYOND, Prada&rsquo;s long-running initiative centered on ocean education. The point is simple. The more you understand the ocean, the more likely you are to protect it.
Re-Nylon, first introduced in 2019, is built on that same mindset. The pieces are made from regenerated materials, plastics, discarded fibers, even waste collected from the ocean, reworked through a process that allows the nylon to be reused again and again without losing quality.
For Prada, it&rsquo;s not about reinventing the look of nylon, but rethinking how it&rsquo;s made. The material still carries the same clean, technical feel the brand has been known for since the &rsquo;70s. The difference is what goes into it.
Part of the proceeds continues to support SEA BEYOND, developed with UNESCO&rsquo;s Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, which focuses on educating younger generations about the ocean and its role in our lives.
At the end of the day, the message isn&rsquo;t complicated. Awareness leads to responsibility. And if you understand something, you&rsquo;re more likely to take care of it. Prada Re-Nylon just frames that idea in a way that feels current, and worth paying attention to.
