The Filipino-Nepalese contemporary R&amp;B singer-songwriter wears the season&rsquo;s transitional statement pieces.

Summer dressing can be quite difficult amidst the sweltering heat of the Philippines. To beat the hellish temp, one must be intentional when crafting a breezy ensemble that could transition from day to night. This idea of perfect transitional wear is the ethos behind UNIVERS&rsquo; Summer 2024 campaign featuring R&amp;B artist Jason Dhakal. &ldquo;It explores feelings we&rsquo;re familiar with: the joy of being outside under the sun and the hazy memories of the summer nights, all while wearing nice clothes, of course,&rdquo; notes UNIVERS Managing Director Jappy Gonzalez.

In the campaign, Dhakal is seen wearing pieces from brands like Simone Rocha, CDG Homme Plus, COMME des GAR&Ccedil;ONS, Thome Browne, Helmut Lang, and more sartorial labels. The musician looked comfortably chic and effortlessly put-together against scenic seaside scapes and cozy interiors. He&rsquo;s also accompanied by model ANA, who sports UNIVERS&rsquo; latest offerings for women from the likes of Jill Sander, PATOU, Alexander Wang, and ACNE Studios.
Lensed by London-based photographer Karl King Agu&ntilde;a, the fashion story revolved around both talents basking under the golden hour sun until the sky turned midnight blue for a night out in a speakeasy. "For this summer campaign we really wanted to capture a sense of exploration, and shot from day to night for people to experience the passage of time between the images,&rdquo; shares Agu&ntilde;a. It also shows the versatility of UNIVERS&rsquo; selection&mdash;a perfect summer capsule wardrobe that goes beyond the season&rsquo;s fleeting trends.

This also marks the beginning of something new for the multi-label concept store. &ldquo;For anyone who knows us, we&rsquo;d rather clothes speak for themselves but for this season, it just seems fitting to feature Jason,&rdquo; Gonzalez says. Dhakal is unarguably a suitable choice for the brand&rsquo;s first fashion campaign featuring a known personality. After all, the Filipino-Nepalese artist believes that fashion and music go hand-in-hand when it comes to expressing creativity and individuality. &ldquo;I get to conceptualize what visual art I see from my own music with the help of fashion&rdquo; he says. &ldquo;It helps me really create a world for a project; from the album shoot, music videos and even performances.&rdquo;
