The moment you enter The Spirits Library you're greeted by a spacious bar and a collection of bottles that have been meticulously collected through the years. In just five years, the "purveyor of rare bottles, books, and bar paraphernalia" has become an institution—and it's easy to see why. The bartenders treat you like family, the feel of the bar in whole is amazing, and most of all, the drinks are just plain good.
We visit The Spirits Library on a lively Saturday. For the bar, Saturdays mean that its burlesque night. That particular night was all sci-fi themed (it was May 4 after all) called "IntergalacTEASE: A Sci-Fi Seduction." On nights like these, the bartenders create themed cocktails to match the performances like Muad’dib (Santa Ana, ginger and black pepper agave syrup, rhubarb liqueur, masala tea air), The Mandalorian (Santa Ana Gin, chocolate rice milk, Pedro Ximenez sherry, coconut sugar syrup, breve), and Alderaan Princess (Santa Ana Gin, coconut water infused matcha, lemon, pandan syrup).
Of course, it wouldn't be a library of spirits without more tipple. Upstairs, in the Detention Room, there are more bottles to discover and choose from. You can ask the friendly bartenders to craft a cocktail just for you or order from the extensive menu filled with classics, as well as Filipino-inspired mixtures.
The Spirits Library already has a lot going on from blues nights, jazz nights, special takeovers, and more. But, there's still more to look forward to according to Bea Zamora who handles marketing for the establishment. Watch the video below for a glimpse at a Spirits Library-style night.
