BYS Philippines Helps You Break Your Stigma
BYS Philippines steps up by advocating the importance of wellbeing through launching their mental health support website.
The thing about mental health is that it cannot be seen with the naked eye alone. When we hurt on the inside or struggle internally, our immediate response is, “Maybe this is nothing. Maybe I’ll get over this,” as we hesitate to reach out for help. It’s no secret that mental health is still taboo and talked about in silence. It’s clear that there is something circulating around this topic–this being stigma.
Being in the pandemic for years now, it seems like absolutely everything has taken a toll on all of us, as well as our wellbeing–both physical and mental. And because these are of equal importance, BYS Philippines wanted to advance in making mental health less censored and more accessible to all by launching their digital advocacy platform Break Your Stigma last October 2021.
BYS Philippines has always been a voice resonating within this call for acceptance. Through making donations, joining campaigns, and with Break Your Stigma, the beauty brand is paving a new path that allows for you to Be Yourself. After all, this is what they’re all about: authenticity, realness, and wellness.
Along with Break Your Stigma now comes the Free Vanguard Assessments mental health survey on the website. This assessment is an evidence-based tool that helps give a reflection of a person’s current mental health wellbeing and state. It is the beginning of getting a better grasp on understanding yourself, as well as becoming more self-aware with regards to our feelings and emotions.
Partnering up with the Mindfulness, Love, and Compassion Institute for Psychosocial Services Inc. led by Dr. Honey Carandang, licensed psychologist Gisa Paredes of Healing Minds, and the creative team of Where To Next, Break Your Stigma was crafted and dedicated to providing a directory of mental health professionals and other resources. Though it is not an accredited medical organization, it provides a possible first step in the right direction towards taking good care of ourselves, by lending a passionately helpful hand and by breaking the stigma.
