The collaborative event will be held from February 21 to 25.

ALT Philippines returns this year to celebrate and present the works of over 200 dynamic contemporary artists to further their goal of &ldquo;developing art education, patronage, and community engagement&rdquo;. Now on its third edition, ALT Philippines is produced by nine art galleries here in the metro&mdash;Artinformal, Blanc Gallery, The Drawing Room, Finale Art File, Galleria Duemila, MO_Space, Underground, West Gallery, and Vinyl on Vinyl. Together with each of the gallery&rsquo;s presentations, the collaborative event will also be featuring various performances, exhibits, talks, and a silent auction open for everyone in attendance across five whole days.

Juan “Johnny” Alcazaren is one of the featured artists for ALT Special Exhibits.

Monica Delgado will be presenting work with Artinformal.

Nilo IIarde will be presenting work with Underground.

Brisa Amir will be presenting work with Artinformal.

Rirkrit Tiravanija and Tomas Vu will be presenting work with The Drawing Room.

To its very core, ALT Philippines is created with the idea of presenting art in a more personal, organic, and engaging manner. Held at the SMX HALL 4 at the Mall of Asia Complex within a floor area of over 2,500 square meters, this year&rsquo;s edition has the biggest breathing space for the works presented and just the right atmosphere for the audience&mdash;allowing for a free and organic interaction between the art and its patrons.&nbsp;
Each of the nine galleries will be presenting their curation of artworks from various artists. Alongside these presentations, they will also be hosting various activities for the audience to enjoy. Five critically acclaimed artists will be spotlighted in special project presentations, including Juan Alcazaren, Geraldine Javier, Pete Jimenez, Oca Villamiel, and Isabel Santos.

Multidisciplinary art unit Somatosonic (Christina Dy, Marco Ortiga, and Tad Ermitaño) will be performing live on February 22, 2024 – Thursday at 6PM.

Miguel Lorenzo Uy is part of a group show on the moving image, curated by Cocoy Lumbao.

Derek Tumala, represented by The Drawing Room, is on the panel discussing New Media for the ALT Conversations series.

Erwin T. Romulo will be moderating a discussion on New Media for the ALT Conversations Series.

Kristoffer Ardeña, represented by Artinformal, is on the panel discussing Diaspora Artists for the ALT Conversations series.

There is also a dedicated video section called &ldquo;Alt Video Room: A Group Show on the Moving Image&rdquo; curated by Cocoy Lumbao Jr. where audiences can immerse themselves into a one-of-a-kind experience through video space and video image. The section will be featuring works by Victor Balanon, Manny Montelibano, Christine Lopez, Miguel Lorenzo Uy, and more.
 The event will also be hosting a live multimedia performance on its second day at 6PM from Somatosonic, a multidisciplinary art unit composed of Christina Dy, Tad Ermita&ntilde;o, and Marco Ortiga. Another highlight of the event is &ldquo;ALT Conversations&rdquo;, a series of discussions featuring different artists, gallerists, curators, musicians, filmmakers, critics, and scholars as speakers while inviting audiences to partake in discussions addressing the future of contemporary art. This will be held every 2PM and 4PM from February 22 to 25. Daily tours will also be held with experienced curator, writer, and educator Carlomar Arcangel Daoana every 3PM from February 22 to 25.
Lastly, a silent auction will be held throughout the event in collaboration with retail concept UNIVERS and six selected ALT artists including Costantino Zicarelli, Jigger Cruz, Johanna Helmuth, Luis Antonio Santos, Raffy T. Napay, and Yeo Kaa. All proceeds from the auction will be going to charity.
