The French house is celebrating wild beauty and artisanal craft, with its largest-ever display in Paris and a takeover of Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo.

On September 1, 2026, Cartier unveiled a new brand campaign centered on its emblematic Panthère.
Unfolding across major cities around the world, the campaign is a tribute to Cartier’s distinctive style and the métiers d’art, or artistic craftsmanship, the Maison has cultivated over many years. With its wild allure, the Panthère appears on an overwhelming scale, as though covering the urban landscape.
The Panthère portrait that symbolizes the campaign brings together the skills of artisans specializing in marquetry, ceramics, lacquer, and mosaic. The meticulous work developed through jewelry-making is expanded into monumental imagery, rendering everything from the Panthère’s fur and spots to its piercing gaze in intricate detail.
In Paris, the façade of the Hôtel-Dieu, overlooking the Seine, features the largest display in Cartier’s history. Across a canvas measuring more than 1,400 square meters, a Panthère emerges with its iconic spotted coat and gleaming emerald-green eyes.
The campaign also extends to London, Milan, Shanghai, and Tokyo. In Tokyo, from September 1 to 3, the Panthère takes over the screens surrounding Shibuya Scramble Crossing. At the heart of the city, where people are constantly passing through, a giant Panthère appears to move dynamically across multiple screens.
In Miami and New York, the Panthère’s dynamic form is depicted through murals, offering a different mode of expression. Adapted to the characteristics of each city and its architecture, a single visual is transformed into a different experience in each location around the world.
In addition to the Panthère, the campaign also features the tiger, zebra, and crocodile, animals that have long enriched Cartier’s animal imagery. Five stories depicting unexpected encounters between the Panthère and these animals have been created and will be released on Cartier’s official digital platforms.
The playful stories also extend to the windows of Cartier boutiques. Animal-themed jewelry and watches are displayed against backgrounds finished by hand by skilled artisans.
These backgrounds are shaped through gold lacquer, paille (straw), glass marquetry, mosaic, and paper relief. Each material creates a different quality of light and texture, transforming the windows into spaces resembling small stages. Fantastical landscapes created through craftsmanship come together with Cartier’s creations to form miniature theaters.
At Cartier’s flagship boutique at 13 Rue de la Paix in Paris, the Panthère and other wild animals are projected onto the façade through projection mapping. Animals that have long lived within Cartier’s jewelry are released onto an architectural scale, creating new stories across the city at night.
Meticulous beauty shaped by the hands of artisans and the monumental scale of imagery that covers the urban landscape: by bringing these two contrasting perspectives together through the figure of the Panthère, the campaign vividly expresses the world of wildness and refinement that Cartier has carried forward.
