Cartier Celebrates 100 Years of the Trinity Collection
The Maison has unveiled new designs of the iconic Trinity collection in celebration of its 100thanniversary.
Clean lines, precise shapes, and just the right proportions are what make up the iconic jewelry piece of Cartier, the Trinity. Created in 1924, the Trinity was born from Louis Cartier’s imagination which eventually turned into the Maison’s first design icon and now signature.
Through the years, the Trinity has continued to reinvent itself through simple and daring new designs. Cartier takes a step further for the collection’s 100th anniversary, creating multiple iterations of the Trinity ring we all know and love, as well as a reissue of the Trinity bracelet in an XL version to tie the whole collection together.
The 2024 collection’s ring now comes in different versions: a cushion-shaped version and a modular version. Birthed from a bespoke approach, the design for the cushion-shaped Trinity ring was achieved by hand instead of starting from a hand-drawn sketch–ultimately leading the Maison’s jewelers to unlock the iteration’s new unexpected shape. The modular version of the Trinity ring, on the other hand, took a different approach: construction then deconstruction.
The Trinity bands of the modular version were envisioned to interlock as one structure and then designed in reverse to deconstruct into three—allowing for the piece to be worn multiple ways. Wear it fused together for a timeless look during the day, or unravel the bands to reveal the diamonds at night.
Cartier is also reissuing the Trinity bracelet in an XL version. Three bands replicate the mobility and fluidity of the Trinity ring, but are crafted with an increased volume that gracefully encircles the wrist. To further tie the whole collection together, the bracelet’s XL version is accompanied with an XL version of the iconic ring.
A symbol of diversity and unity, Cartier’s Trinity is a testament to the values that the Maison intends to pass on and embody. It is an expression of creativity and a lasting proof of Cartier’s iconic codes and expert fine jewelry craftsmanship.
